The Best | ‘Sparkling ICE Tea’ tweaks tradition
By: Linda Bader
I have always been fond of ice tea. So through the years I have tried different brands of tea, made “sun tea,” tried different brewing techniques and purchased many different restaurant teas to enjoy. I now believe that I have found the best: “Sparkling ICE Tea.”
Sparkling ICE Tea is made in Preston, Wash., at a company called Talking Rain Beverage Co. The tea is naturally flavored and has zero calories. It also contains vitamins and antioxidants. It reminds me of a soda and tea blended together.
Sparkling ICE makes three flavors of tea: raspberry tea, lemon tea and peach tea. It’s created using a special blend of black and green tea to get the perfect tea flavor, then adding fruit juice and carbonated water.
I purchased my tea at Kroger at $1 for a 17-ounce bottle. I understand that Rite Aid and Wal-Mart carry these products. (Sparkling ICE also makes 11 water flavors and eight lemonade flavors. I have not tried them yet but most likely will during the summer.)
I am looking forward to hot, sunny summer days filled with Sparking ICE Tea, good food and great friends. Each generation has a unique way of enjoying tea. This new blend is our generation’s way of adding sparkle to ice tea. This ice tea is so creative. I am confident you, too, will enjoy.
